The Aloha-‘Ohana Parliamentary Unit of Hawai‘i meets monthly on O‘ahu to study parliamentary procedure and to promote the educational program of the NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF PARLIAMENTARIANS^® (NAP) locally. The unit actively promotes the upgrading of members' expertise in the field of parliamentary procedure.

Some of the members of the Unit are Professional Registered Parliamentarians (see Star-Bulletin article of March 2007), but many are students of Parliamentary Procedure just beginning their study. We pride ourselves on being a warm & friendly group of people who welcome people of all backgrounds and skill levels.

"Aloha" means love, affection, and acceptance. "‘Ohana" is the Hawaiian word for family, kith & kin. We chose this name for our Unit to emphasize our inclusive and welcoming support for each other.
