The Aloha-'Ohana Parliamentary Unit of Hawai'i meets monthly on O'ahu to study parliamentary procedure and to promote the educational program of the National Association of Parliamentarians (NAP) locally. The unit actively promotes the upgrading of members' expertise in the field of parliamentary procedure.
Some of the members of the Unit are Professional Registered Parliamentarians (see Star-Bulletin article of March 2007), but many are students of Parliamentary Procedure just beginning their study.
We pride ourselves on being a warm & friendly group of people who welcome people of all backgrounds and skill levels.
"Aloha" means love, affection, and acceptance. "'Ohana" is the Hawaiian word for family, kith & kin. We chose this name for our Unit to emphasize our inclusive and welcoming support for each other.
You are cordially invited to visit or join us. Our next meeting is Tuesday evening, June 3, 2008 CLICK HERE for details and directions.
